Rent Assistance

Tarrant County Housing Assistance Office (TCHAO)


Services: Offers various housing assistance programs, including Emergency Housing Vouchers (EHV) for individuals and families experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness.


Eligibility: Referrals for EHV must come through the Tarrant County Homeless Coalition.

Rent Assistance

City of Arlington – Tenant-Based Rental Assistance (TBRA)


Services: Provides rental assistance for up to 24 months, including help with rent, utilities, and security deposits.


Eligibility: Targeted at homeless individuals or those at risk of homelessness. 


Referrals are accepted from partner agencies such as AIDS Outreach Center, Arlington Life Shelter, and My Health My Resources of Tarrant County.

South Central Alliance of Churches


Services: Provides emergency financial assistance with rent, utility bills, and prescription medications.


Eligibility: Assistance is available for individuals and families experiencing recent verifiable, sudden job loss, medical emergencies, or similar situations.

Salvation Army of Tarrant County


Services: Offers emergency assistance with rent, mortgage, and utility payments, as well as food assistance.


Eligibility: Assistance is available to individuals and families in crisis situations.

Catholic Charities Diocese of Fort Worth


Services: Provides emergency financial assistance with rent, utilities, and other basic needs.

Eligibility: Assistance is available to low-income individuals and families.

A Place To Call Home


Services: Offers rental and eviction prevention services, including assistance for individuals living with HIV/AIDS.


Eligibility: Specific programs are available for individuals living with HIV/AIDS.
